Ready to ditch the solid state and get a nice fully tube bass head. (1,000-2,000$). Need something to match my Fender Twin Reverb 85w. Looking at SVTs/Bassman/Orange. Please divulge your dream head.

Thanks

Hard to beat the traditional SVT for power and tone. Do you already have cabinets? What kind? What sound are you after? Also: Plenty of great amps in the TB classifieds.

#1. Thunderfunk
#2. Mesa Carbine M6

Pretty sure I'm gonna give the Phil Jones M500 a shot next time around though.

+1 on the Svt CL, I have one and its all that with the 810E. If you are partial at all to Fender then look at the Bassman 300watt all tube head, its smack it the middle price wise......I know there are other tube heads but these two I actually own and the reviews are good. Getting a tube head in this price range is just like buying a new car...Go slow and by the way avoid B stock..good luck...

Warm and clean counts the Orange out. The SVT can stay clean, or dirty up, your choice, but I'd go with a Mesa 400+, or a D-180, or a Buster. Mesa's all tube bass amps sound the *cleanest* to my ears, but still plenty warm and tubey.
