Putting my gig rig together

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone,

New poster here.

I love my Acoustic B100 amp for practices at home, but I'm in a new band that practices loud. My Acoustic is barely holding its own at practice, let alone at a gig (without PA assistance).

So I picked up a used Ashdown MAG 600 evo II head. To test it I played it through a Peavey 12" floor monitor, and it works, although there is a lot of muddiness. For a cab I ordered an 8 ohm Eden 210XLT. I know it will only take (approx.) half of the Ashdown's power, but I'm hoping it will be enough for practices, and I'm sure it will be a lot cleaner than the floor monitor! If I need more I can always get another 8 ohm 210 (or 115 or whatever) to add power.

Any thoughts are welcome.

If you are playing fairly loud, a single 2X10 will not get that loud.

A 2X10 moves about as much air as a single 15".

2 of those 2x10s would be great. And from what I've read, stacking them up vertically makes it much better in terms of hearing yourself on a stage.
