PX5D without metronome or pattern?

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought a Korg Pandora PX5D because I wanted a headphone amp with an aux input and a few options on the tonal sound. Set it up today and noticed that when I select the rhythm/bass mode, there is always some type of rhythm pattern playing in the background. I don't seem to have an option for simple amplification and tone control. Can one of you Pandora users out there tell me if I can use the PX5D for amplification and amp modeling alone? Without the metronome or drummer?

I'm not familiar with that model, but I had an original Pandora from back in the day that was able to do that.

I would think you take it out of rhythm/bass mode. Just put it into play mode...

The only problem with that is that it appears to lock me out of the bass modeling options. No, wait, I went back and experimented. I can get the same preset effects. But, and I'm being finicky here, I notice most of the effects *way* overboard and intended for teen guitar players. I was hoping for something that allowed me a lot of flexibility only within the range of the bass. The way it's set up, I have to more or less fuss with it a lot to get a few different bass sounds.

Not really happy with this thing so far. But what to replace it with? I looked online at some bass modeling amplifiers but they're designed for performance not headphone practice. Didn't think it would be this much research to find the product I want.
