QSC bass amps!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
They don't exist....why not...i think that QSC should consider building powered bass cabs, that we can add our desired Preamps to, sort of like Atomic amps did for guitars, just better quality...let me know if I am the only one that feels this way...but imagine having a great power support and then your choice of preamp and pedal flexibility...QSC you guys can have this idea for free...just start making them!!!

QSC builds powered speakers perfectly capable of working as beautiful bass amps now.

In fact they are part of many FOH systems that amplify the bass to levels the audience hears.

Taking out the horn for a bass only model, would probably cost more in retooling than just build a general purpose cab like they do now.

Go give them a try, I'll bet you'll be surprised if you don't think they can do this now.

PS - if QSC decided to make Bass only amps, then they'd have to go about publishing little or misleading measurements and specs. I don't think their ready to go this route.

It really is tempting to try some of these new powered PA cabs for bass. I remember trying some Mackies and JBL 15" powered cabs back in the '90's for bass. They sounded good at low volumes, but could'nt cut it with a loud drummer as a stand alone. Maybe things have improved since then. The only thing I don't like is the shape, trap or rounded clamshell type that either needs to be on the floor blowing up at you, or mounted on a speaker stand. I guess I still need that box behind me !

just one thing to say... the powered QSC stuff is AWESOME. if i could afford to retrofit my pa with a compliment of tops and subs, i would do it in a heartbeat. a club i work at sometimes has a relatively modest set--- 2 tops, 2 subs, and 4 of the small ones for monitors, fed from a lowly mackie 1604-vlz. it simply kills in their room.
