Quality of Genz Benz Shuttle Bag?

Sign in to disble this ad
How is the quality of the Genz Benz Shuttle bag?
All the pics I see make it look as if there is no padding for the knobs of the amp when zipped up.
What is the scoop?
Thanks!

I got mine for free as part of a promotion. It's a well made bag, with minimal practicality, but for the zero price it's OK. I got it just because it was free...the GB looks pretty durable without it.

Is it padded? If so, how about on the zip up part that covers the knobs?

It's padded all the way around. The knobs don't touch anything. I hauled my amp to a practice Saturday in it, and I decided it added a little too much weight. I bought the GB because it was small, light and good sounding, so I guess I'll leave the bag alone. I don't have any problem carrying the amp around without it.

I have the bag and would not take it out of the house without it. Shoulder strap is nice and yes the end with the zipper is padded too. I just wish the pocket was a little bigger to hold the speakon cable, but it holds the power cord and that's about it.

It's fine for transportation in your car, but I wouldn't hit the road with the bag (FWIW, I also wouldn't hit the road with it in a laptop bag either). It has some nominal padding, but it's not any more protective than a typical gig bag. Some people are comfortable with that, some people need more.

If you really want to protect it, get a Pelican case with pick & pluck foam and you will be nearly bulletproof.

Go to this site, add at least 2" in every dimension, find case, order case.

I looked at one when I bought my S9. It looked like it would do a fine job of protecting the amp when transporting the amp around.

I ended up passing on the bag because it wasn't big enough to carry other stuff.

I ended up using a laptop bag. The laptop bag works perfect for hauling (and protecting) the amp and other stuff.

When I go out, my computer bag holds:
1 - Shuttle 9 and power cable
2 - Instrument cables (18 foot and 7 foot)
1 - 5 foot speaker cable
1 - 3 ring binder for my music
1 - Fender Folding Guitar Stand
1 - Clip on Tuner
1 - Pedal (w extra batteries)
Picks and string

And sometimes even my laptop and power supply.

For me that means that I can arrive; put my bass on back pack style, put the laptop bag on over the shoulder, grab my Berg HT112, and still have one free hand to push the remote to lock up my car and grab my coffee.

(Deja vu)

I bought a metal briefcase, slightly oversized, with the pick and pluck foam. Holds the Shuttle, electric cord, and three speakon cables (speakon to speakon, speakon to 1/4", and speakon to banana). You can stand on it.

Got mine from audiopile.net

What he said (Ezstep). I've been thinking about this since I posted my reply above. This would be an epic solution.

No, it's like a "rock and roll briefcase", made like an Anvil case but briefcase size. Nice.

I use this for my Shuttle :

Buy Gator Deluxe Padded Music Gear Bag | Utility & Gear Cases, Bags & Covers | Musician's Friend

The 12x12 one fits it nicely, and it's $20 less than the Genz bag.
