Question about attaching Bracing

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a GK MB210 & MBE 115, and want to add bracing to them. I know several people recommend pl plus adhesive, but I don't think it matters what adhesive people use. Personally, I have 2 options, titebond, or drywall screws. What do you think would be the best method? Glue, Screws, glued and screwed?

If using titebond, cut the braces so you have to force them into place, no need to screw it. Pl expands as it cures ensuring a tight fit, plus it's super strong.

Use the Titebond to attach the braces to the cab and use the drywall screws to secure their position, if needed. Later on you can either remove the screws or just leave them there, depending on the situation.

It does. With PL you drill 1/8" deep receiving holes into the inside of the panels, cut the dowels 1/8" longer than the panel to panel distance, put adhesive on either end of the dowel, snap the dowel into place. No fasteners required, and the PL expands to insure perfectly tight joints.

By this same idea, I was going to cut the braces a wee bit longer, so I have to muscle/hammer them in.

Works! Exact technique for dentures.
