Question about cabinet & poweramp (little help here)
I have recentl tested and ampeg svt401he bass cab with 8ohms.
But my poweramp with axe-fx 2 is the Matrix GT1600 with 4ohms.
What I'm loosing with this ampeg svt 410he cab?
Should I look for a bass cabinet with 4ohms to match the matrix gt 1600 ?
What do you think?
You are not missing enough to worry about. Certainly not enough to replace the cabinet over. I think your are better off having an 8Ω cabinet because it allows you to add another 8Ω cabinet in the future and they will both work with the amplifier you have. If you had a 4Ω cabinet then you would be risking serious damage to your amp by adding another cabinet.
Your power amp will do 800 watts on each side at 4Ω, 480 watts per side at 8Ω. Lot's of possibilities, so you won't be limited no matter what the impedance of your cab(s) are. Bridging both sides of the amp into the 410 probably wouldn't be prudent - I'd guess 1600 watts would be pretty ridiculous overkill and that cab wouldn't last very long.
480w is plenty for that cab.
the store i brought was suposed to deliver an ampeg svt 410hlf tbat is 4ohms.
But they sent this 410he.
To chanfe or refund wl be a piss in the ass.
So Im thinking to stay with this one to use stand alone on gigs.
And I aldo know that the hlf is to use stand alone and has more low end.
So I really dont know what to do haha :/
Most of us would not think twice about insisting on receiving the cab ordered.
In the USA, at Guitar Center the SVT-410HLF costs 800 while the SVT-410HE costs 680. That is a significant difference in price so at the very least you are owed some money. Personally, I think you should insist on receiving what you ordered but I really don't know how things work where you are.
