A question about EQ in an effects loop

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an Ampeg B1 amp that has an effects loop. Recently, I found an old EV Tapco 2230 27 band equalizer. My understanding is that this is primarily used in sound reinforcement, but would it work in my bass amp effects loop, without damaging the head?

I believe it would work just fine. No different to having let's say, an MXR 10 band eq on your pedal board.
However, I know that if you ever decide to adjust your effects level ( assuming you have that option on your amp ) decreasing OR increasing the level will also boost or cut the eq's setting. Perhaps adding more bass and making it more "boomy" or treble, making it more " hissy" and even more "middy" making it more nasally as well as the opposite.

But it should work just fine. Like any other signal processing unit.

Hope that helped.

peace ~
