Question about my amp

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently got my B120 Sound City head, i'm really happy about it and love its sound/tone/looks/everything blahblah

Anyway.
It has 7 input sockets. In the official page it explains everything about them.
A friend of mine recently gave me some advice (i'm fairly new to all this) about drawing the natural overdrive sound by making a circuit-connecting and using more than 1 input channels at the same time.
(You plug your bass/guitar into the normal input, and a jack-jack cable to the other channels, so you're using more than 1 at the same time, blend the normal/brilliant tones etc).
I tried that and the tone is a bit angrier and nicely driven.
But.
I want that overdrive to happen when i want it to and not constantly.
I thought about making or buying an (foot) on-off switch, plugged to the channels i'm not using. And its general idea is for it to work as an overdrive pedal.

Is that safe?
Will it work?
Will it have any bad effects on the amp because of the turning on/off of the extra inputs at the same time?

Thanks =)

won't hurt the amp but i don't know of any way to footswitch it. probably better off with a pedal if you want to switch it on and off.
