Question about wattage and resistance

Sign in to disble this ad
I still am a bit confused on this topic. I am about to get a Trace Elliot 1518t cabinet, 300 watt, 8 ohm, and I have a Peavey 400 series, (200 watts @ 2 ohms), will this be safe? I did read the sticky, but, that really didn't help at all. Thanks!

It will be safe. Anemic as all get out, but safe. Read the Peavey manual regarding output power at different impedances, if none is available, figure 130 watts at 4 ohms and maybe 90 or 100 watts at 8 ohms, if you're lucky.
