A question for the Epifani experts.

I have an Epifani 2x12 cab, diagonal type, which I acquired in a trade and have used for the past few years. It is very light and I have always assumed that it was a UL-212 series 1.

I was looking to get another the same and earlier this week I bought a used UL-212 from a store in London and took in home. The guys loaded it into my car and it was only when I got it home and tried to lift it that I realised that it was much heavier than my existing cab.

A rough measurement with the bathroom scales and a closer inspection of the back plate revealed that I had indeed just bought a UL-212 series 1 but it tipped the scales at about 31Kg (68lbs). Interesting the spec for the UL-212 is given as 59lbs.so it might be that the drivers had been changed.

The plate on my original cab says it’s a T-212 UL and is 22Kg.(48lb). which is considerably lighter than the official spec for a UL212.

I’ve owned a few Epifani cabs over recent years but this designation is a new one on me and I can find no reference to it anywhere on the web so it might have been a one-off.

Has anyone come across a T-212 UL before?

Needless to say the UL-212 went back.
