Questions on input levels

Okay ive got an Ampeg 108 practice amp (25 watts) with two input jacks, ones 0dB and the other is -15dB. The information packet on the 108 says the 0dB is for passive instruments and the -15dB is for active instruments and im wondering if it would damage the amp running an active instrument thru the 0dB input at a reasonable volume around 6 or 7 on the amp and the preamp turned about halfway.

Edit: The reason i want to run my active instrument thru the 0dB input is becuase its awfully quite when running thru the -15dB input.

Nope... no damage. They are just assuming that active instruments will have a hotter output than passive instruments, which is in no way true these days.

Use the non padded input (0db) for all instruments. Only use the -15db padded input if you get distortion with the pre gain control set very low. This will rarely ever be the case.
