Quick cab question!

I came into a 500W, 8 ohm avatar 210 cab and I am just wondering if I would be damaging my Eden WT330 head to power the cab. I also use a 4 ohm, 300W Trace Elliot 115. I know my amp can go to 2 ohms, its more of a wattage question.

Thanks!

Your amp is fine, as long as you're sure it can handle 2ohm. What makes you think you'd damage your amp?

Not a problem at all.
Your WT330 will deliver 200W@8 ohm or 230W if it is a B model.

Ok thanks. I just hear lots about matching the wattage of the amp and cab so that its not being over or under powered.

Underpowering is a myth.

With that said, I would not recommend you pair a 4 Ohm and 8 Ohm cab on that head. Use one or the other, but not both at once.

It would be also save to combine the both cabs.
The Wt330 will give you 420 watt.
The impedance will be 2.66 ohm which is save.
Rock on!

Except you are sending twice the power to the 4 Ohm cab.

Which is 280 W and not a problem for a 300 W cab.
As always, the ears are the judge!

As long as the OP is aware of the limits of his cabs it should be ok, not ideal, but not against the law.. Put the 4 ohm cab on top so you can hear it better, as it will be seeing twice the power, and will most likely be the first to reach its limits

Except that an average driver will run out of excursion at about half of its thermal rating so 150W.

Your English seems excellent however the word is safe not save. I mean no disrespect just to slightly educate.

Mixed drivers are always a crap shoot as well. I would try it, but don't be surprised if it doesn't meet your expectations.
