Quick Question Regarding the SVT CL

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I was curious if it would be possible for me to run my bass through one of the inputs of my SVT and my synth through the other input and use the head without causing any harm to either it or my speakers.

Thanks!

A signal is a signal. If the head allows both inputs to work at the same time then it'll be fine.

Synths can go ultra low and you need to make sure your speakers can handle it.

Yup, my only concern would be the eq being shared may not be optimal. If you're pumping a ton of lows in from the synth and have a fair amount of lows eq'd in on the head you may be putting the speakers at risk, but otherwise it should work.

Right on. I'm just trying to figure out if I'd be better off getting a small Roland for my synth. Then again, when is getting new gear ever a bad thing?

You shouldn't have any problems. Although, it'd be even better to have the 2 preamp channels of an SVT VR available to allow for more EQ flexibility!

Or, put both the synth and bass into a mixer first, eq separately, and mixer to amp.

re synth

Hi,

I used a small mixer for a synth and bass and ran it into the amp. The synth had EQ controls so I was able to get a good mix. I used a SWR 4 x 10 and it was awesome. I still use the same cabinet for a roland GR20 bass synth and never had any cabinet issues... most bass amps work great for synths..

Good luck!

I did it a couple of times without issue, either with the head or the cabs I used at the time.
