Quick Tech question re: little amp vs big cab

Sign in to disble this ad
Is it infeasible or inappropriate to run a Genz Shuttle 3.0 head to a 400W Bag End?
I intend to go into a 400w 8ohm Bag End 212 (buying from TB user) AND a little Genz 8" cab. Will this work? Seller is saying the cab won't support lower notes through his 125w head. It distorts.

According to GB:
175 watts at 8 ohms and 300 watts at 4 ohms
ref:
Shuttle Series | GENZ BENZ

Thanks in advance,
Charles (NOT CATHERINE)
PS: My girl will go on TB from time to time from my pc & write some stupid ****. So if you've seen some smart ass remarks or clowning around they're not from me.

Sounds like it's time for a new password at least, preferably a new girl.

No there's nothing wrong with a small head and big cab. Just make sure there's nothing actually wrong with the cab. The guy may have just been clipping his little amp trying to get more than it had to give. If you throw the 8 into the mix, whatever it can handle will be your limiting factor in which case a stronger amp probably wouldn't do you any good anyway.

Now go change your password and if this chic can't even be trusted with a bassplayers website, check your wallet, your bank account, look for bombs under your car, check the internet for naked pictures of you while you're asleep and pray your junk is in one piece when you wake up tomorrow.
