So this might be a silly question but here it goes. I bought a Gk 700rb11 and am looking for a rack case but not sure which one or what size? Im looking for something that will fit just one head.

| | | SKB cases are outstanding, I've had one for close to 15 years, and recently the latches were wearing out and SKB Warrantied them for free! http://accessories.musiciansfriend.c...ase?sku=544602

SKB makes a nice plastic rack case. Go for the 3 space rack, then you have a little breathing room to keep the amp from overheating. http://www.skbcases.com/music/produc...?o=&c=113&s=80
I like SKB because if it breaks they will replace it. |

SKB cases are really good and they take care of their customers. However they tend to be a little higher in cost than most people want to spend right off.

+1 on SKB.
As far as fitting "just one head"....
Are you sure?..I had a 4 space rack..then my rack tuner...furman powerstrip and I was all set...until I got ahold of an Aphex204...so I upgraded to a 6 space rack...
I'm just sayin..a two space just seems so small..I'd at least get the 4 get those fancy slotted rack space covers (for the empty spaces) and ull have room in there for extra cables..+ whatnot..and room to expand later.. or maybe just some sweet blinking LEDs..o yeah..possibilities are endless. |

Fits perfect, plenty of room at the back for Speakon cables, and a little extra breathing room at the top for the fan. IIRC, the literature in the manual recommended a 3 rack case to let the top "breathe."

The nice thing is that it's short and easy to transport, and the extra space above the head can hold cables and a couple of pedals. Depending on your particular configuration, of course. I like to pack light and efficiently, so less **** to carry is good. |

IME, these amps only need about 1/2" clearance for the fan to work OK - and the SKB 2U ATA gives thses amps about 3/4" fan clearance... I personally wouldn't want to drill holes like you suggested, because I like the SKBs for their ability to keep dirt, dust, moisture, etc... out of their insides... I've had SKB cases ride in the back of an open truck in the pouring rain, with no ill effects for the gear their held...
Granted, more clearance certainly wouldn't be a bad thing, but I've gigged mine pretty hard in temps up to 95F, without any troubles whatsoever...

The rack case and a 1 space vent was only $84.00 @ www.rackmounts.com
