It's already in a head case, so there's absolutely no reason. Rackable bass heads have rack ears.

He MIGHT have a reason, although it is a little odd to do it, but -

Hey - anything can be modified if the desire, need and ability to do so is there and t'would be interesting to see it done if it could be a surgical procedure.

I've done something similar.

Take saw, shorten the head case. have girlfriend hold 200 in larger rack case. Use 1" boring bit 24" long... Drill through new rack case all the way to other end of rack. Put threaded 3/4" rod through case holding the head in place and install a pair of nuts, tighten until you hear the rack wood clearly busting and 200 not rotating freely.

Oh yeah unplug the amp before step one...

I'm aware of the fact that it's in a case for one thing. And I do have a reason, I have a rack tuner and a rack EQ runningwith it and it'd be nice if I didn't have to buy a new head to put it all in a rack.

Though it does sound like a pain in the neck to do. I'l have to think if I want to bother with it. I could use a larger amp and an 8x10 cab.
