Rack Tuners

Sign in to disble this ad
Okay, So I am looking to buy a rack tuner. I'd have to get a new case seeing as mine is only big enough for my amp. My amp is a Mesa Big Block 750. I've found a few rack tuners online, but none of them are black. I was hoping to find a decent black tuner to match my amp. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If someone could point me into the right direction!

Thanks,
Andrew

Ps. Hopefully what I wrote makes sense. Haven't been getting much sleep.

The Korg DTR 1000 is mostly black apart from the blue light. I really like it, makes tuning on stage really easy and it puts on a good light show if you want it to.

Yes, but the and all Korg rack tuners are discontinued. I know of a place that still had some if you want to PM me, I'll tell you. Stay away from Beringer tuners. The Sabine RT7000 is another nice rack mount that is almost black.

Unfortunately it seems that Behringer is the only company currently making rack tuners.

Sabine makes some very nice tuners, found at a TB vendor, and I think they have two or three choices for rack mounts. Very nice indeed, but another one of the TB vendors still has a few new Korgs left.... well at least they did a few months back.

Sabine and Korg both make nice tuners. I wasn't aware they were still making them or that anyone had any left in stock.

I am a tuner freak.. this may help.

the Behringer BTR-2000 was poor, it tracks really slow and seems to not want to pick up notes well..

The Sabine RT-1601 is basic and its accuracy is not very good... works just like the STX-1100 handheld to me.

The Korg DTR-1 and DTR-2 are cool and do a great job, I like the look of this series better. less flashy. I have the DTR-2 in my rack now.

The Korg DTR-1000 and DTR-2000 are great and track very fast but I don't like the light show that goes on myself.

The Peterson VS-R is just craziness, it's incredible but I found myself obsessing over getting it 1000% perfect, which seemed to take too long.

Fender RT-1000 since I am not into fender I haven't owned it but I did try it.. it was ok but the giant F in the center was cheese and just the excuse I needed to not buy it.

SWR RU-N2N pretty sure it is a Fender tuner.. would be cool as hell if the rig was SWR,, but it worked just like the fender tuner and the blue LEDS were BRIGHT!!!!!!!!

Sabine RT-7100 never tried it. looks to Knight Rider K.I.T.T. for me.

I hope this helped

Maybe I should keep the extra Korg DTR-1 I want to sell.

If the OP can live with a brushed aluminum front panel, PM me.

Okay! Thank you all for the help. Seriously, you guys have helped with a lot of the confusion. It looks like I'm definitely going to go with Korg, seems the best for the price.

I see that Korg makes DTR-2000 while the DTR-1000 is no longer in production. I'm definitely checking ebay more often for a cheap DTR-1000 in good condition.

On another note, do you think Korg would put in purple LED's in a DTR-2000 if I asked them to? Probably not, but purple LED's would match my amp perfectly!

They are made in a small native village in Tanzania, I doubt anybody can speak swahili well enough to tell them to change the LED's you'd probably get a Purple YUGO shipped instead.

Korg works good, I have a DTR-1000 but would have had a 2000 if the local GC would have had one. The 1000 is worth about $100 bucks used.
