Rackmount casings

Hey guys

I got the 2 4x10 Powerhouse cabinets going on The M9 Carbine and the sound is phenomenal. It pays to listen to the experts on here..

I'm looking to put a casing around the M9 because i can here it vibrating on certain notes when played. I was thinking Mesa Boogie casing but i am pretty much open to any suggestions.
Are there any site that shows the casing along with prices? I checked Mesa Boogies website and nada, even did a search on ebay.
What will a M9 carbine fit into comfortably?

I used to put a piece of foam, like you kneel on when gardening, between the head and the cabinet...... no more vibrations.

You have to pick up the actual paper Mesa price catalog to find all the accessories and prices. The head cases are listed at 299.

Rack mounting your head will reduce the vibration, but may not eliminate it. My Mesa M6 is in a 2-space Gator shallow rack (your head should fit this too) and my cell and tuner will vibrate off the top during high-volume gigs. I need to take hifibass's advise above - put some foam between the case and cab.

Thanks guys, you saved me a lot of legwork here..

I see the gator casing might b just what i am looking for, now the question is 2 rack shallow or the 4 rack shallow??

I tried the foam under the head thing last year and it worked but there are still some notes that just vibrate the hell out of it...

Go with the three space shallow Gator rack. My M9 fits perfectly in it and the extra space provides very good venting or could be used for a rack tuner. I just have a vented cover on mine to hide the gap. Gator doesnt offer the shallow version in a 2 space and I find the deep versions too deep for the Carbines.

I did own a Mesa Big Block head in the matching wooden Mesa headcase and as cool as it looked, it made for a heavy amp to lug around. The case adds about 20 pounds. The Gator weighs next to nothing.

Wow, i love this board, you guys know exactly what you are talking about.

I called Mesa Boogie and they said they would have to custom a casing for me any colour i want for 400, a little too much for just the casing IMO, so i went out and got the Gator 3U shallow. With the empty space i put in a Behringer Rackmount 2 Channel Tuner with the LED lights on the bottom, kinda like a spotlight on the Amp. The unit looks very impressive with the M9 all lite up, money well spent and much less then 400 Smackers for it.

Question.. The Behringer is only about 5 inches deep so it doesn't cover any of the ventilation for the M9 plus the vents are primarily located in the back. Would i need a stationary fan back there to prevent it from overheating? The guy at the store said it should b fine but ya never know...

I think it should be just fine. I would probably put the tuner above the amp but should work either way. Sweet rig you have there!
