Rackmounting Mesa M6

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a Mesa M6 and got a steal on a 2 space rack bag. ($30 Aguilar Rack bag on Amazon). Will I risk overheating by not having an extra space above it?

Thanks.

I don't think it will be an issue. These amps run cool and vent from back to front. Notice the big vents on the front?

My M9 stays cool as a cucumber!

Thanks Crabby. Thats what I thought but there is a BIG sticker on top of the amp that says NEVER block the top or side vents... I guess they mean like laying a blanket on em. lol

If the amp has vents on the top they NEED to be kept clear. If you don't the am WILL eventually overheat.

So I received the Aguilar Rack bag and it only has holes for where Aggie heads would have rack mount points...

So it fits snugly into the case and looks nice but cannot be screwed in. I may just leave it and consider it a bit of a heavy carrying case... just remember not to tip it forward.. but I can't imagine I'd ever need to.

I practiced with it tonight for a few hours and it ran cool. I'll be sure to monitor it at gigs this weekend.
