I don't know who to be upset at about this...
I'm moving away from having a compressor "always-on" so the issue with the GK Mb2-500 clip light started to get at me...
I emailed GK about it and I got a quick reply the next day saying its still under warranty and that they would "update" it. I just needed to email Brian and ask for a RA#
did that and got an email back with a forum to fill out before I could get an RA#... odd first time seeing that form and I've sent back that amp TWICE so far for shutting down early and something else I cant remember... I think it was an issue with the headphone jack clipping and distorting.
Filled out the forum twice because the first time I forgot something.
Got an email saying
"Your R.A. number is XXXXX.
Please write this number on the box before you send it to us."
which is odd because I've always got a UPS label to ship it back....
So I shipped it back on my own dime.
waited a week... nothing? sent an email asking if it even made it... nothing.. emailed back the original person I contacted... nothing.... sent a message to RAG here on talkbass... nothing.... waited another week and sent another email... nothing...
sent another to the first person again and got a reply today..
"Hi,
It has been delivered to Las Vegas, NV on 10/27/10 @ 11:47am.
You can see the tracking results at www.ups.com with the tracking number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"
the site says it was delivered to my home yesterday an "left on porch"
I dont have a porch..... and no box or note on my door...
I called the number the UPS store told me to call and its a big automated loop that only confirmed my correct address....
Im pissed at UPS and pissed that GK took until the day AFTER my amp was suppose to arrive to get me a tracking number...
For all I know the UPS guy could have just stole it... It would not be the first time gear has gone missing by UPS in my band...
If anyone has been through this please help... I dont make enough to just take a loss...hoping I dont need too.. |

It should be policy to leave a door card and attempt delivery again the next day but in reality, it doesn't matter what your policy is or how many "failsafes" there are, you're still a human dealing with another human and if they somehow got wrong information or just plain don't care bad things can happen. Your beef is with GK whether or not it was actually their fault. If it wasn't, that's a beef between GK and UPS. Down side is, while everybody else is busy pointing fingers, you're without an amp. Yet another reason for having a backup, no matter how lame, old, ****** or beatup it may be. |

Shortly after I got an email saying another guy would send me the RMA and the UPS shipping label to print off. They create the form, and set up the shipping return on their dime if it's warranty work. I think I got the return about 7-10 days later. It was pretty seemless. I did have to ask for a tracking number, but they gave it to me.
If they really shipped it to your address, it sounds like a UPS issue. GK can go after them after they settle with you. |

I've read about that happening, and the neighbors were just going to keep this little gift they found until the owner came by even though his name and address were on it.... |

Couple times I've used it seems I find a stickey on the door and don't recall hearing door bell ring or knock on door. I'm usually home most of the time and especially when I know I'm expecting a package delivery. So I would know if they rang bell or knocked.
At least with no sig required I find my package left at the front door and agian I make sure I'm home when expecting one. Recently, I stepped outside and almost tripped on my package, there was sticky on door saying,"left at front door".
Yeah, I noticed, how about a little knockage next time or a ringy ding on door bell buddy. |

Kinda negates the purpose of home-delivery though. Shouldn't have to do that but at least you'll get your stuff and it'll be loaded/unloaded one less time so less chance of damage. If you've ever really seen the inside of one of these facilities and how things are handled, it's a miracle anything is in one piece when we get it.
Remember the opening scene to the first Ace Ventura movie? It is overdone in the interest of comedy but not by that much. |

I wouldnt mind going and picking it up..
but then this goes back to the fact that GK didnt even contact me to let me know they got it(i know they normally dont but the fact I fired off emails for a couple weeks didnt help..) until after they shipped it out didnt even give me a chance. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
