Maybe find a seam and pull?

Practical advice for the first stage of removal. Actually (here are the steps I've always followed - others may have better suggestions), first you gut the cabinet, removing speaker, wiring, crossovers, damping, jackplates, handles, etc. Then you try to tear off as much fabric as possible. Use a metal putty knife to get leverage to pull it off. Most carpet coverings have strong enough backing to let you get the carpet off, leaving just adhesive with fibers stuck to it as residue. Then you get a can of adhesive remover (very toxic fumes and generally flammable) and dissolve/scrape off as much of the remaining adhesive crud as you can. Next, let it all dry and go at it with a sander (large grit is mostly what you'll use). Bedliner coatings (Duratex or the catalyzed, more durable materials) are fairly forgiving of a gritty underlying surface, since they are very textured themselves. It's kind of an ugly job, but rat fur is pretty obnoxious in its own way. Good luck.
