Ratchet Strap

Okay, some of you guys may be skeptical about this but here goes.
Last week I got around to building a little speaker combiner box. I wanted to run my more hi-fi Mesa/SWR cabs (4 ohms) with my GK fridge (4 ohms) which is kinda muddy but in a nice way. So the box puts the them in series which give me 8 ohms. So far so good.
(btw when testing the impedance of such a large array of speaks its good to use the continuity/impedance function, the voltage makes it read more accurately).
Well in our practice space we have 3 bands so I had to pile all the cabs together. Fearing for my bandmates safety (I stand far away from my amp so I can hear it right) I purchased a ratchet strap and tightened it down around all 3 cabs.
I swear this alone improved the sound. There were no odd buzzes or hums since all the cabs could not vibrate against each other.
For example there is one brace in my Gk 4112 that has a tiny bit of play. On some notes it buzzes like a grasshopper! The weight and pressure on top of the cab along with the strap rendered this member imobile!

I would reattach that loose brace and solve that problem once and for all.

PL Premium construction adhesive will fill gaps up to about 1/4" and its bond is stronger than the wood itself.

that is my long term plan. I would really like to get the brace out of the box, sand the paint down on both ends before I glue though. I am sure gorilla glue could do it without the prep, Liquid nails maybe. But I would hate to glue have it peel back after a few months and have to clean glue and paint off of the joint!
I may just shoot some screws from the top down into it in the meantime.
here is a pic of the stack, you can barely see the blue ratchet strap on the sides of te boogie 15".

and the 4112

I think today I will try and get to rehearsal early so I can try it without the strap. It may just be my mind playing tricks but I swear it sounds better because of the tension of te strap making it all immobile.

I think you'll like PL premium better than Gorilla, and certainly better than the noxious Liquid Nails.

You do have to keep the part in place while the glue dries, but that can be done with a small nail or screw. Once the PL has hardened, the fastener is superflous.
