I was given one of these by a friend but it did not come with an AC adapter. Does anyone know the AC adapter type I need?

The only pics I've seen do not show an adapter jack--looks like 2x 9volt batteries is it.

I asked the seller to take a picture of the label on the adapter. Unfortunately, this is not an adapter that you can buy off-the-shelf anywhere that I know of.

RAVEN LABS
Some more info...

Nice link fdeck, I wondered what those adapters looked like. My PHA-1 was too early a build to accept the adapter. Sweet preamp!

You could buy a Boss power supply and a 3.5 mm stereo plug and wire it as shown on the adapter in the picture.

So the "9VDCx2" means it's running 2x 9v lines with shared + and the 2nd negative on the ground of the plug for the 9v output on the back of the unit?
Odd.

If so, follow Munjibunga's advice and get the right plug from RadioShack, grab a $3 wallwart of comparable output from the box at your local Goodwill/Thrift Store, and make it work.

Uhhh ... King's X - it may not work like that. I forgot about the two polarity thing. Sorry.

Thanks for the comments. Mine has housing for two 9 V batteries and input for the Adapter. It looks like I will be using batteries until I find a Ravens Lab adapter.

The adaptor that came with mine is labeled as below

RAVEN LABS
AC ADAPTOR
MODEL NO. DV 9300
INPUT 120VAC 60Hz
OUTPUT 9VDC 300mA
CLASS 2 TRANSFORMER

Not trying to yell with all the caps. The label itself is all caps. I have not used batteries with the PHA-1. If you can, buy a few adaptors when you find them. They have a tendency to break IME.

I would point out that the batteries last a long time in that unit.
