Real world Terror Bass/SP210 test

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, new member here, but I lurked for a while before joining. Was a drummer for many years, but finally realized that I loved the bass more. This forum was very helpful in narrowing my choice of amps, and I decided the other day to pull the trigger on the Orange Terror Bass/SP210 combination in white that Humbucker music is promoting. Good deal, how could I pass it up?

I was a little worried about the 210 carrying my tone thru my metal band, but after using it for the first time last night, my worries were unfounded. My bandmates and I could not believe the tone and volume coming from the little cabinet. In fact, they said it was louder and more cutting than the previous bassists Ampeg and 4x10 cabinet.

As I use it more, i can answer any specific questions anybody may have, but for now, take it in good faith that if you're worried about the SP210 being loud or cutting enough, you have zero to worry about.

I've got a Terror bass and am looking for a smallish cab for it, well I will be soon now that I've finished paying for some car repair and dental bills, this is some useful info, thanks, I might have to go try out a SP210 sometime.

The only thing I should add is that the amp slides off the speaker cab very easily at stage volume. I wish this would be fixed, but for now I just separate them.

I throw a small rubber mat on top of my SP212, it's stopped the TT from moving about.

Countrybass, thanks for that response. I thought of that as a possible solution. You're saying that it even works at cranked volumes? I'm generally playing the amp with gain at around 3 and volume around 6.
