Reccomend Me a Good, Loud Amp for a Low Price

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm looking at amps, and I'm wondering, what would be a good 150+ watt Combo amp for under 500 bucks. DO NOT SAY BHERINGER!

My school just blew God only knows how much on a new power amp, freezing the fine arts fund: effectively screwing the Band, Drama, and Choral programs for another 5 years, because their older-than-dirt Bheringer one blew. Bheringer is crap. And No, I am not trying to troll.

I just hate how Bheringers always seem to break when you need them the most.

But yeah, anybody got good amps for under 5C? I'm specifically looking for stuff that have built in contour and gain components.

Wait, I think I've found one that would be great, but NO REVIEWS!!! NOOOO!!! Does anybody here have experience with a Marshall MB150 Hybrid?

There's all sorts of amps out there. For starters, look at Hartke, GK, and maybe guitar center's acoustic brand...

I don't know that Marshall; but I sure would look closely at Gallien-Krueger's MB line. On your budget it would be the MB115 -- one 15". It's quite loud, a nice balanced sound, not boomy like some 15s are, and very light, t'boot! US$400.

If you could find a bit more $$ to put into this, the MB210 and MB212 just bring more to the table -- both volume and low end. But the MB115 sounds terrific!

GC flips lots of BIG SS amps for around $150 plus tax. Is there a location near you? They do ship used gear through their website. If you're shopping their used gear, call the store-once you've found it on their website, and you might get a few more details about wear 'n tear...

Behringer is not popular on TB this week!

Used LOUD Peaveys are all over Craigslist for short $$$ all day long. Peavey stuff weighs a ton, but you can't kill it.

Any Acoustic combo. That, or a Peavey, if you can handle the weight.
