Now that is a beautiful thing. I paid about 100 more for mine and that was just the amp.......and it's a silverface. Good score.

Our guitarist is more excited than I am; probably have to lock it up to keep him away from it!

Two twelves... what's in there, I don't know! Bought from an older guy who played rockabilly and country in late fifties to the late sixties. I get the feeling he hasn't done a thing to that cab since he bought it in 1967.

Nice score!
I use one in a studio I record at for guitars. We use it as a coaster/guitar amp and it sounds very, very good.

The joke there is the guy who owns this amp, Jack Endino, saw that we had "This is not a 300W Coaster" taped on all of our amp heads. He then taped "This is a 135w Coaster" on his. I would have to say this is the best sounding amp I have ever heard for tracking guitars. It is a beast.

I'd give it a good going through considering it's age but yeah, one my all time favorite amps and yes, it is a guitarists dream rig, lock it up tight.

Also if you ever decide to part with it, call me first.

It probably needs new filter capacitors and a bias trim. Magnificent score!

I guess I'll have to get some white gaffers and do the 50 watt version!

The guy I bought it from seemed to know what he had, he just wanted it gone NOW. I told him it was a fantastic deal and he said he knew but it had to go. He's selling his house and moving somewhere smaller.

He sold a Blues Deluxe guitar amp for $275. I probably would have bought that if he hadn't already sold it when I called about the Bassman.

He's cool old guy, hooked up with a hometown buddy back in the '50's, formed a band and worked as a musician for most of the last 30-40 years.

Wow, what a score. It makes me want one again because it had the greatest tone I ever heard at low volumes..... and then I remember how bad it clipped and blew speakers at high volumes. If I ever get another one, (the last one I had was a blackface tweed...) home or studio will be the only place it goes.

He told me not to turn it up past 5! He played it through a mic mostly, so volume wasn't an issue for him. Band plays tomorrow, so we'll see if I can keep up without running it through a PA.

Man, I know nothing about that stuff. I knew black was better than silver on the amp, but that's about it.

I would advise you to take the amp to a tech and get him to check the amp out. Amps of that age need some TLC to get them running at their best - especially if it hasn't been powered for a while.

maybe if you play guitar it can keep up but for bass ? ain;t gonna happen unless your bandmates play washboard, jug, mando, fiddle and un-amp'ed acoustic guitar ...

Great amp, nice score and definately should have it checked over by a good tech to get it and keep it operating @ 100%

Now try to find the small box 2x12 cab to pair it with.
