Interesting. I have a Hartke Kickback 12 that I've used for quite a variety of gigs, including as my main amp every week for a church choir for 10 years. Not once did I think "weak" and at that church, I was filling a 250 seat chapel quite nicely... the sound guy often told me to turn it down.
"Big and bulky" is also not a term I'd apply to the Kickback series (mine's a 12, but I do have minor experience with the 15). My "big and bulky" was the Hartke Pro 4200 i had for a few years... A 120lb 4x10!!!
Good luck with that 1x10 though. If it's what you're after, that's what counts. I just can't imagine using something that small for anything but bedroom practicing. Of course, my gigs right now are an 11-piece horn powered funk band and a 14+ piece urban gospel outfit with a director who's philosophy is "if it's not loud, it's not a show," so a 1x10 wouldn't cut it.
