Recommend me an Ampeg please

I play a '68 Jazzbass and as you may think I like the classic tones. I play mostly Fusion, jazz and blues and only at home. No slap and no pick. Just classic fingers.

I have had an EBS Neogorm, a couple of Phil Jones and an Aguilar Tone Hammer 350 with a 2x12. None of them have given me the tone I am after.

Now I want to try an Ampeg and I am thinking about a 1x12 combo.

What would you recommend me? Any other alternative?

Thanks.

The B200R has been out of production for a few years now but the new PF-350 and PF-500 heads with the new portaflex cabs should be on your list.

Ampeg B50R if you can find one.

THe B200R rattled like no one's business. At least mine did. I sold it. Still have my B50R!

Yeah a lot of rattle issues were reported with the B200R. But if you get a good one (mine is still good) they have great tone.

+5 on the PF recommendation.

Or if you want to go whole hog, find a used B-15 in decent shape.

I own the PF500. Its light weight, but has heavy weight sound. So I +whatever number. You will not regret it.
