Recommendations for Amp with Schroeder 410

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi-

I am considering purchasing a Schroeder 410, and would need a new amp as well. Wondering what current users of this cab would recommend as a good head to go along with this. I play passive Fenders, currently in a 'classic rock' group.

Thanks!

I don't know about the current schroeders but the earlier ones were sort of low mid present so IMO a wider/more open sounding head will match nicely with the tighter sounding schroeder voicing to give you a bit more of a deeper low end.

We could probably make some recommendations if you could tell us your budget and what amps you have available to you and what features/sounds you are going for?

I had a Schro 410L and I found that the GK 1001RB-II sounded best with that cab. Plenty of lows from the amp.

I'd be curious to hear any other recommendations. I'm currently running a Mesa 400+ through a Schroeder 410BMF, and I'm not thrilled with the result. I'm now trying to decide which one to replace.

Available locally?...hard to say. Lots of choices, if going through T.B, on-line, etc. Budget- probably up to around $750; used would be OK. Sounds- adequate power/volume, and a good rock tone- good bottom end. I play finger style mainly with a passive Fender J, not much slap, etc.

Thumbs up schroeder 410

I use a Carvin B1500 with my Schroeder 21012 BMF and it sounds awesome! It is so loud it'll make you sweat. I also use it with a Markbass SA450 (it's a fancier version of the Littlemark) for moderate volume gigs and practice. Both work very well with it and can fatten it up as much as you need, but I prefer the Carvin. I love my Schroeder cab!

I used a GK 2001RB, 1001RB and MB2-500, a Genz Benz GBE-750 and an Aguilar DB750 with my 410R. The 2001RB was far and away my favorite of the bunch with that cab. Gobs of power, tons of volume, great tone matchup.

I agree, replace the schroeder, that head is a keeper. find a cab that works with the head rather...

I played my Markbass LMII through my Schroeder 410 and was happy with it.

But what REALLY got my attention was powering it with my Alembic F1X pre/QSC PLX 3102 (1 side)!
