Sorry not sure if this is the spot to ask for tips, but I have been reading around for a few days, and one of the sites I read from said, to get 200-400watt, 2x12 or 4x10

If possible an amp that will make sweet love to my beginner bass Ibanez sr300

Are you playing in a bad? Or just practicing/jamming on your own?

I see this amp on craigslist but i have no idea what a good amp is hehe,
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/msg/2146802918.html

around 350$ since I am just starting out.

For now I am just learning the bass, but I would like to join a band or jam with others in the future.

If yer looking for something dirt cheap to just use around the house, I just picked up a peavey max 158. It has 15 watts, 3 band eq, 8" speaker, cd input jacks, headphone Jack, and a voicing switch with modern or vintage tones. I play ibanez basses through it, and for a $100 it can't be beat. I also plug in my laptop into the input jacks when i use Guitar Pro. Good luck!

I'd look for a used Ampeg BA115, Peavey TKO, Yorkville XM200, etc... a combo with 100w or more and a 15" speaker or 210's that will do the job both at home and in casual jam situations.

How about this?

I'd shop for used Peavey or Hartke in that power and speaker class. You should be able to do that for $350, even as separate head and cab.

I'd say Get a Used SWR workingman's 15.
I bought one new 95 and gigged it for 10 years without problems or complaints.
played thrash, latin, swing, rock, pop, to 40...always delivered.

$250 for a bheringer is a crap deal.

If you want to spend that much money we can recommend much better gear. Go with the B200 and save your money til you're ready to move up.

you have not filled out your profile so none of us know where you live. If you are in the Americas you could do a l;ot worse than checking out Carvin.com. I've not regretted buying from them.

+1 100 watts into a 4ohm speaker is a loud 100 watts. Great tone for the price too. I've had a couple friends (new bassists) pick these up and are very pleased with them.

I agree. The Carvin MB15 is all the amp most people would ever need. You can add a cab for a full 250 stack.

If you don't want to order an amp online, the GK MB15 is a great deal. Same price as the Carvin (399.00), 200 watts, VERY LIGHT, great sound.

This......... What ever ypou get you want something that you can grow into as your playing improves... Either of these.. or a used Ba-115 would be ideal... The GK is very light.. the Carvin MB-15 only weighs 32lbs.

In fact From what I can see that Carvin MB-10 isn't a bad little piece of kit either @ $300.

I have the MB10 and love it. Mine is covered in Blue Tolex. I bought it for practice but I'm sure I could do a gig with my DRB 112LF under it.
