I'm running to an ada ss power amp to 410 cab.
Or do I just go with another micro genz head or other head? |

Ampeg SVT-IIP (in the classifieds right now for $225)
Ampeg SVP-Pro
Eden Navigator
You're probably not gonna find these for less than $400, but:
Alembic F1X
Demeter

Anything else? | The Ampeg SVT IIP is great if you can find one in your budget and has the best signal to noise, if you don't need the overdrive function that the later Ampeg pre's have built in that is. |

| | | | The SVP Pro has that nasty 10-band EQ, a mess of solid state crap in an otherwise all tube circuit, sounds better with the EQ bypassed. The SVP-CL has no graphic EQ, should be less expensive, but who knows. I got mine off a friend for $300, best money I've ever spent.

A great preamp with DI and Eden sound in a small package.
Stupid I am, Dang, no tubes in the WTDI

I like it better than the Demeter HBP-1 which is too sterile for me. My current love though is the Fender TBP-1 which I bought used here on TB. It does 99% of what I want, but I'm an old-school Motown and classic rock sound kinda guy. IMO if you can find a used TBP-1 that would be a superb place to start for you. Or just buy the Studio Channel now. Note: The SC has a hundred knobs and they are all useful. You WILL have to tweak to get the sound you want, but it's a great piece of gear. |

Would still like to try it someday, though. |
