Removing Combo Head?

Thought about removing the head from my Markbass CMD 121H combo to save money and give me more flexibility when I get another cab or two.

Anyone tried this on a Markbass combo? Or is it a bad idea? It looks like a tight fit, and I assume it has no top on it (I would have to make one, I reckon).

There are few threads on this if you take a closer look. Several folks have done it and there is no cover on one side, as you guessed, and I believe Markbass considers it a violation of your warranty - if that matters to you.
