Remove the logo? Blasphemy!

Then again, I am one of a very select few who thinks the color scheme is absolutely brilliant. It definitely sticks out and grabs people`s attention.

Why the lack of love for Crate? I used a Crate rig for over 10 years with not one single problem or complaint.

Nope its pure CRACK... If you remember that commercial where the guy gets the message, You have reached the end of the INTERNET hit the back button NOW!

My buddy had that happen to him the other day. He told me so in an email so I know its true.

True dat. I think the addictive and mind-expanding/numbing process takes on new proportions unseen by clinicians in the entire history of mankind.

Exactly. I think my post admits they are great speakers. Not the greatest reputation compared to some other brands, a lot of people look down their nose at Crate. I ditched the logos so I wouldn't have to put up with the gear snobs.

You know what's really cool about the free market?

There are products from A to Z out there and those products are valued in $$$ from next to nothing to Bazillions of $$$. We get to do anything we want as far as deciding what products to buy and what to do with them once we actually lay down the $$$ to own them.

I seriously don't take a thread like this very seriously and the OPIE's question was answered in the first few posts. Basically get out the screwdriver and pry the thing off. All the rest of it for me was in jest...

Happy Halloween.... BOO

Indeed. Hard to explain to today's youngsters what the club scene was like back then. I think the entire RMS power of my band was 300, including the PA.

Yeah, I took the logos off all my Eden, Aguilar and Bergantino cabs. It was a little harder getting the Glockenklang logo off, but I did it.

I usually forget there is a logo attached. Funny, the typical response to my old Crate rig was always curiosity - I found most folks did not know the name.

the Aquilar logo is also fugly, IMO. Bergantino is not so bad, and Eden graphics are decent.

I agree with everything RBonner said.

The Markbass cosmetics are garish and hideous, and I don't want equipment that calls attention to itself (which Marbass does, even from 50 feet away).

I am so sorry. I was being facetious. I want people to know what they're hearing. Especially at those prices. I do think MarkBass gear looks fine, though ... on Halloween.

On one hand, the logo is part of the gear, and who cares.

On the other hand my CMD121P is SO SMALL that no one sees it anyway, so why bother to remove the logo? People are always looking for my bass "stack" and when I show them the tiny box in the corner that is shaking the stage they can't believe it.

Yeah, its crazy isn't it? I just got mine Markbass CMD 112H a week ago and have yet to gig with it, just band practice. I am looking forward to people being blown away by the massive sound from such a small combo.

Just as I get ready to leave for the Harley Swap Meet, I wonder how many Harley Tattoos I will see getting inked today? I have 7 harleys in my garage, AND DO HAVE A TAT, but no where on it does it say HARLEY. When they pay me $100K a year to have a tat, I'll think about it.

Ha.

I agree with almost everything you write, BOB.
My primary ride is a Duck.
I also ride a Honda.
And I drive a VW.
I have NO ink. Whatever.

Another way to remove a glued-on logo is with dental floss. Any residue usually cleans up well with WD-40 or mineral spirits.

My biggest mistake was taking my kid (who's 19 and has had a VRSCR since 14) and seeing the 1098 models. My mistake was me seeing the RACE VERSION on display in no touchie land and its $40K price tag. I wanted bad, however escaped and didn't go back. I still hear about it.

Oh and we have a VW in the driveway, an 06 GTI. This pen is out of ink, damn... See we do agree on a lot of stuff.

Save those nameplates and logos! To see what fun I'm having with two, go here:

Poll: help me name this hybrid combo

And check the images.

(And yes, I took the Markbass logo off my 112 combo; it was just not appropriate to the whole look of our group. Besides, with room for more air to flow, I'm louder now. Like having a knob go up to 11.)
