Removing the tweeter from a GK NEO410

Hey, I'm new.

I'm thinking about eliminating the tweeter from my Gallien Krueger NEO 410. Not a fan of the hiss or touchy high end.

I've browsed the forums on how one is supposed to disconnect the tweeter and rewire the circuits to the jack to retain the original amount of ohms...

My question is: has anyone ever done this with the GK NEO 410? Results? Pros and Cons? Advice?

I know that removing a tweeter is a fairly common practice, but I'm looking for opinions on this specific cab. Thanks

Just put the cabinet in bi-amp mode and use the speakon connector.
That will effectively disable the tweeter , unless of course you are using a GK head with a bi-amp cable to the cabinet.
In which case simply turn off the tweeter at the amp.

This is all explained in the manual BTW.

Just disconnect any wires and whatever electronic parts are between the input jack(s) and the tweeter. You might need to add some wires between the jack(s) and the woofers.

It won't change the impedence of the cab.

If you physically remove the tweeter, you'll need to seal the hole airtight.

EDIT: I didn't think about the G-K biamp feature. Do as suggested above.

Alright thanks guys. I purchased the cab from craigslist awhile ago, but I should track down the manual online. I'm using a lilttle mark ii amp fyi

Then just plug into the speakon connector from the markbass head into the speakon connector on the cabnet and set the cabinet to bi-amp with the switch.
