Repair Workingman's 10 Amp Section - Vs. - Get a head to use w/ the Speakers?

This is more than likely what happened to it, though it still needs to be looked at to be sure: C6 10UF exploded, TDA7294 damaged!

I have two friends who are amp technicians: One in the Eastern suburbs of my area & one further south near Kent & it should be an easy job for them, but how much do you think I can expect to pay for the repair...if that's all that's wrong with it!

Because although it sounds great, it can't get very loud and for the cost of repairing it (or more) I could probably find something else to use with its internal speaker and my Workingman's 1 X 10T extension (8 Ohms, 100 Watts)....maybe get a used old Workingman's 2 X 10T extension (8 Ohms, 200 Watts) to match and then end up with the super-portable vertical 4X10 arrangement I've always wanted!

I loved the way this amp sounded, but I'd like to get something louder and am hoping I can use what I already have since these cabs are portable, sound great and already make up half of my ideal rig!

Any recommendations on what i could use with this?

If you know amp techs ask them how much they will charge for the repair. You also don't actually know what is wrong with the amp, you're guessing. More may be wrong than you think. Personally I consider a combo with a 10" driver to be a practice amp. You are the only one who can decide what the amp is worth to you. I wish you luck with the repair.
