Question Replacement 15" speaker for Ampeg SVT-15EN - Any suggestions?

Sign in to disble this ad
hey all
I while back someone blew my speaker in my 1x15 ampeg SVT-15EN. I've not had the time or money to replace it previously, but now I'm looking for a replacement. The rear states:
Power handling 200Watts RMS
400 Watts Program
Impedance 8 ohms

I'm based in the UK, so any suggestions of a replacement 15" speaker? I dont really want to order in from abroad.

Thanks!

You should be able to find someone locally to recone it for you. I had the speaker in my SVT-15E reconed due to a blown amp and it sounds better than ever now. Cost me around $60 US here in California.

+1 re-coning the original driver is usually the best option. Otherwise, a direct replacement, (exact same driver) should be used, unless you are experienced with cab and driver modelling. It's alot of science, but bottom line, you can't just drop in any old replacement spkr.
