Hey, fellas, how do I go about getting a replacement 10" with the mesh cover for my RS210 cab. I bought it used and am guessing it got damaged in transit. Sounds like it has a distortion box hooked to it. Anyone know how much they cost? Thanks!

The only 10" coaxial they make that i know of is the Beta10CX
you can buy one here
most likely the HF driver being used is the APT50 buy one here
one of three things could have gone south, The 10" speaker, the High frequency Driver, or the crossover. open it up a see if the crossover has obvious damage or smells of failure. disconnect the HF to just see if its blown.
Pull out your bad speaker and take a picture im curious to see what they look like. Most likely the same as the one at the Eminence website, but with a different label made for TC.
this of course is the "special design" label that makes it "custom"
TC might sell you a replacement for a little more, possibly less never know might give em a call, otherwise you know the price you can get it for from online dealers. |

Had to get it replaced under USPS insurance. TC get custom made drivers - you should contact them and get a replacement. |

I started hearing the mids/high mids cutting out/distorting at a gig. I thought surely the tweeter was blown in the top cab, I had two of them stacked vertical. I could def hear the mids/hi mids cutting out. I asked here about it but when I went back to double check what might be up, turns out the MTD bass had some issues. I had it looked at and supposedly fixed but the preamp in the bass was cutting out even after the repair.
The two RS cabs sound fine still, it was the short in my bass' preamp causing the issue. Just be sure your bass, speaker cable, inst cable, power cord, etc. is not an issue. Gotta narrow down the possiblities. Those cabs are purty sturdy from what I've seen so far. Good luck, let us know what the fix was. But yes, the damage could've occured during the ship process as well. They bang those boxes around pretty good while in transit.

| | | | I'm sure it's the 10", I pulled the speaker completely out of the box, removed the 1 1/2" and still got the fuzz when holding the speaker in my hand away from the cab. I hooked up the other 10" to the coax leads and that 10" sounds great. Thanks for the ideas, fellas!

There's the chance that the beta won't get along with the other woofer. May be worth looking into if tc wants big $ for their replacement but do some studying before buying. TC's driver is oem. They call them 8ohms but they read 11.something so really more like a 12 ohm driver. That's why Tc says "you can use 3 of our cabs but nobody elses on our 4ohm amp."
That article has a lot of good info on these things as the normal assumptions don't apply to these cabs or amps. |
