Replacement Speaker for Mesa Diesel 1x15

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey y'all.

I am picking up a Mesa Diesel 4x10 and a Diesel 1x15 for 400 dollars on Saturday. The 4x10 is in perfect condition. But the 1x15 needs a repapering, and a new voice coil. I got quoted 125 for the job, but I really am considering getting a totally new driver. What would you all recommend?

Eminence 3015LF. It will take four times the power of the original driver without farting out. And a good thing, as the original driver would only take half the power that the 4x10 can without farting out.

Re-cone the original driver professionally. It is the reason those cabs keep on making rounds.

I use a 4x10 and a 1x15 Diesel. My 15 doesn't fart out at all. Mine keeps right up with the 4x10 and sounds great by itself. I had it up for sale a few weeks ago, but no one took it, kinda glad since I have been using it again. Get the original driver repaired professionally, you won't be sorry.

Or try the non-LF Kappalite 3015. Many guys here including myself love them in TL-606 based cabs such as the Diesel. Not as much low end extension as the LF version, but if you ever use just the 1x15 stand alone, it has enough upper mids to cut through while still delivering some booty.

Yeah...what basslinejam said.

the 3015 NON-LF version. Got mine from a factory-direct eBay seller for about $120 +shipping each.
