Replacing my old Polytone- GK or Carvin?
After 33 years of great service my Polytone Mini-Brute III (15" speaker) died and will cost a fair amount to fix. I loved the sound of that that amp for small acoustic jazz gigs and backing a small choir. It was certainly portable.
I tried a GK MB115 but found rather "loose" on the bottom. I was thinking about the MB112 but they are tough to find. It seems most stores have the 15 or 2x10.
I am wondering if the Carvin Micro with the 15 might be about right. It is certainly about the same dimensions. Any other thoughts? I want something small and light but moe than anything really looking to retain that old sound.
For reference, besides the old Polytone, I use a GB Streamliner with Bag End cabs for larger gigs.
