If you can turn a screwdriver, you can change the speakers. Main thing is to make sure you get appropriate speakers. Oh, and the flux capacitor.

You should also not to forget to jot down the wiring scheme when you pull the ol' drivers loose... you have 8 of them so it might get tricky

There's nothing tricky at all, they're all parallel. My bet is that Ampeg did it that way using 32 ohm drivers to minimize the possibility of anyone screwing it up on the assembly line.

Hah! I wonder how many people got cabs with speakers out of phase?

Since the speaker cabinet is a sealed design, use some speaker gaskets

I refurbished a '68 SVT 8x10 flat back cabinet a few years ago. Some speakers were bad, but others had survived. I had the ruined ones re-coned and it ended up being much cheaper than buying new ones. I suspect that the tome was much more even that if I had mixed old and new speakers in the same cab.

Don't drop the screwdriver!
You would be surprised how many speakers get damaged this way.

Also make sure to have an extension cable for your soldering iron, these 810 cabs are huge .
