A request for help from Gallien Krueger users

Hi there everyone,

I already have a NEO 212II which I run from my 1001 RB II amp, however I have the opportunity to add a NEO 115III to it and my question is this.

I assume I need a further cable for the new cab and that I need an additional speakon cable so that the horn functions on both the cabs work; what ports in the amp do I use? Presumably its ok to have the horns on both cabs working? Sorry it seems a simple question but I always worry about wiring new kit and I don't have experience to fall back on.

Is there any reason why I can't stack the cabs, I guess the 212II would sit on top of the 115III?

As always comments really appreciated.

Best Wishes

If you wish to run bi-amped, using both cabs simultaneously, then yes, you'll need to obtain a second Gallien Krueger bi-amp cable. Any dealer ought (fingers crossed) to be able to set you up. Are there not any GK dealers in the UK?

You don't connect the cabs to the head via the head's "ports". They're called "outputs" - or Speakon outputs, to be precise. (Are they really called "ports" in the UK?) No, there's no problem with running in bi-amp mode (horns engaged) on both cabs simultaneously.

No reason you can't stack both cabs - in fact, from a sound dispersion standpoint, it would be way preferable. AFAIK, the footprint for both cabs is identical (though the 2x12 may be a bit taller).

Wondering the same myself...

I've been pushing my Neo 410 with an Ampeg B4R for years now, playing everything from metal to jazz, and it's souded great; but I'm playing reggae now and need some dedicated low end, so I've been looking for a 15" or 18" to add. Low and behold, a Neo 115 III pops up on CL for a decent price. Great reviews, but what I'm looking for? I'm thinking full range 410, and biamped low for the 115. Any thoughts?
