Restoring a beaten V-4B

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi

I found a pretty beated Ampeg V-4B. From the faceplate i can tell is from the mid-later 70s

Anyway. Been looking for faceplates an stuff but all i can find is the older model faceplate.

So my question is: Can i replace my amp with some earlier model faceplate?

Can i replace de switches with toggles? (of course the polarity switch would be doing nothing)

thx

Except late 70s V4 faceplates

OP - I'm not sure if the old and new faceplates line up exactly. If you contact a machine shop in your area you can probably find someone who can make the plate (ie drill the holes in a properly sized piece of aluminum) and you can get it silkscreened or do it yourself. Try searching faceplate on the amps forum, this came up recently in an ampeg thread and someone had linked to a place online that will make any faceplate you want.
