That Eden head, tuner, and power conditioner will fit in a 4-space rack case. You could cut down a lot of the bulk by getting a 4-space case... Especially since 4 is all you need.

Sure is easy spending other peoples money isn't it?

Why not just get your Eden fixed and play it. There is absolutely nothing any of these mini amps do your Eden can't. As far as beimg small, lightweight, etc....pfft...that eden is no bigger or heavier than a briefcase full of stuff. Old men carry those all day every day. I don't know when exactly bass players turned into pansies, but I'm not playing along.

If you're all that hellfire concerned about weight, flip the xlt's for a pair of Genz NeoX's. They'll run just as loud and spread the sound wider at 1/2 the weight and a smaller footprint.

IMO there.

If you like that Eden, there will be some things you miss moving away from it. Could do with less extras and a smaller rack.

I did the same thing a few years ago. I had the full rack with a Trace Elliott amp, Demeter pre, effects units and a Furman.

I also had a Genz 1 x 15 and a GK 2 x 12.

Sounded great but I hated moving it all.

There were a couple of steps in between but I'm now at a Genz lightweight amp (the Neopak 3.5 which will be traded up for a Streamliner once I have the disposable) and 2 Bergantino 1 x 12 cabs.

Sounds fantastic and for smaller gigs where I only take 1 cab I can load in with one trip.

I like it.

I will see if Sam Ass and GC have a micro for me to try tomorrow. I really appreciate the opinions!

I like my Eden's tone. Perhaps just getting a 4 space rack and a GK mb 200 as a backup is a more sensible plan. I just don't know if im missing out on new technology by sticking ith my old head.

Had the same kinda rack w SWR Sm900 17 years. Got old

Just wasn't worth the load out at 3am anymore w a carful of 410s. Went GB SL900 and 2 Neox 12 and no lookin back.

Depending on what you play you may wanna look at a total Oprah makeover.... Amazing choices now

If you really (!) want big cabs (air movement & loudness, not size & weight), you want two 2x15s/2x6.5s with Eminence Kappa Lite 3015LFs & 18Sound 6ND410s.

http://www.usspeaker.com/Kappa%20Lite-3015lf-1.htm

http://www.usspeaker.com/eighteensound-6ND410-1.htm

Or to save bucks, two 2x15s & High Frequency driver/horn with Eminence Kappa Lite 3015s (non-LF) or Faital Pro 15PR400s & Selenium D220Ti driver & HM25-25 horn.

http://www.usspeaker.com/Kappa%20Lite-3015-1.htm

http://www.usspeaker.com/faital%20pro%2015PR400-1.htm

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=264-270

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=264-312

Or to save even more bread, go Eminence Delta Lite II 2515s rather than the 3015s or 15PR400s with the Seleniums.

http://www.usspeaker.com/delta%20lite2515II-1.htm

The least of these, Delta Lite II 2515s/Seleniums, will crush. The 3015s or 15PR400s/Seleniums will decimate. The 3015LFs/18Sounds will e-v-i-s-c-e-r-a-t-e.

I'd do a preamp/power amp setup with any of these. Lots of great choices here that would be very reasonably priced.

IME, Boss tuners are junk when directly compared to the Turbo Tuner, Polytune, Pitchblack, and Strobostomp... Boss tuners were great 10 years ago, but have been left in the dust by today's offerings - they're much slower tracking, and not nearly as accurate...

FWIW, I like the Shuttle Max series much better than the regular Shuttles - better preamp, and more versatile...

With those cabs, a ShuttleMax 12.0 would kick ass, and they can be had quite reasonably on the used market...

That's the truth. If I ever have another bass built, it's going to be a clone of that pink caddy. Simply k-i-l-l-e-r.

I need my cabs in that size right now because our stage show kind of requires it. If I do leave this gig, I will sell the 410's and pick up a Bergantino H322. I know they don't make that cab any longer, but back when I AB'd it against an Eden, it reigned.

Will 33 nailed it, and you're on it here. The hype over new technology might have some merit, but that's not why we started playing music! Don't lose yourself in the great swirling morass of "Quantum Marketing"...

If it sounds good, and it's become part of your interface with your voice, it makes good sense to not lose it- especially for a superfluous reason ('lighter', 'easier', 'new technology', 'G.A.S.'...).

Didn't mean to yell, sorry.

By the way, the GK MB things are great gig-bag filler. Way to go for a back-up, on that rare occasion... you'll look very pro if you happen upon disaster at a gig, and can whip out that tidy solution.

My first thought as well. A Mesa Walkabout stack of 12"ers would get you good tone and portability. I got rid of my SVT6 in a rack with a bunch of other junk and don't miss it one bit. I either run the Walkabout 15" stack (which will bring pure thunder), or a Shuttle 6.0 with any number of other cabs I have lying around. I haven't needed a "power conditioner" (which is just a power strip by the way) or a rack tuner or a rack drawer one time.

TU-2 tuner works great and you can't kill it. There is no need whatsoever for a fancy tuner in any live situation. Nothing on stage will be in tune perfect but everything will be in tune perfectly fine.

But to get rid of a rack (in the name of weight reduction) only to lug around two 4-10's makes no sense to me at all.

The .0 series is excellent, so definitely nothing wrong with them. IIRC, the .2 series just adds a few upgrades that I thought were worth the upgrade if I ever decided to get a Shuttle. It's been a while, so I honestly don't remember what they were. I do remember that the power section now has the 3DPM that the Streamliners have, which I really like.

As for pedal tuners: I've had a Peterson StroboStomp 2, a Korg Pitchblack, and a TC Polytune Mini. All three of them are great. I have the Polytune Mini on my board now because it's tiny.

I use a Crafter clip-on. Cheap little plastic gadget I leave sitting on my amp- never have it clipped on for a set! Ew... but it's small and reliable, good enough for live use.

The rack thing, that looks more like a space issue than anything. Bulky, something you have to reckon with at the end of the night! I'd lose that big box just on that basis.

The weight of the 4x10s however, that's at least 'meaningful'... it houses your drivers.

I'd change one thing at a time, if you're going to change things. Sometimes a little change makes you happy enough.
