| Reunited with an old (dearly missed) amp

My first "real" amp was an Ampeg SVT 2 Pro that purchased new in 2005. I played many gigs with it and recorded a full-length album/cd/whatever with it. It never disappointed. I don't consider myself to be a member of the "if its not all tube, its crap" club but this was the best sounding head I've ever played.
Unfortunately, I needed a much more portable head: I was living in a city without a car and was using public transportation (sometimes), not to mention that my girlfriend just found out that she was pregnant. I couldn't justify having two amps; the behemoth had to go. I traded it in at a Guitar Center for a Little Mark II in November 2009.
This past Thursday night I decided to stop in at a local Sam Ash to browse on a whim. After looking at some basses I decided to look at their amps. They had a used SVT 2 Pro in great condition. Being the gear snob that I am the first thing that I check is if it was made in the USA or Vietnam. This was USA and had JJ KT88's in it; the tubes I had my old amp retubed with the summer before I got rid of it. At this point I'm certain it's my old amp. I returned the next day with my original receipt (I was shocked that I still had this). Sure enough, the serial numbers matched: I found my old amp. I bought it (again) and spent all today making sure the neighbors had something loud and funky to listen to.
Any other "good" stories?
