RH450 Flat Setting/Pre Bypass Question

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys,
i need some help. i looked online and i cant find the setting i am looking for. i am trying to get the amp set flat without any coloration. i know that the flat setting on the amp is not actually flat. could someone shine some light on this for me....trying to tweak it to work with my upright.

also, another question. if i plug a preamp into the back, will it bypass the pre on the amp. if so would it mess with the power management thing that the amp does....?

thanks,

evan

Bass Gear Mag provided a flat setting for the RH450. I don't have a link, but a search should do.

I'm not really an upright player but I do know that the effects return will bypass the preamp. This will eliminate the use of the spectracomp, tuner, and tubetone, but will allow you to use the master volume, mute switch, and DI in post eq mode. I tried it a couple of days ago because I was wondering about it myself. The power managment is not affected.

Here's the link; flip to page 60. Note that the photographs are mislabelled re: shift mode, but the text has it right.

You could run a cannon to jack lead from the D.I.( Pre EQ) into the effects return. That way you could still use the tuner and input gain and mute

Sorry about my colloquialism. I should have said XLR to jack cable.

No, don't plug a pre into the di, that'd be running juice in through the out door and could fry things. I think he's saying you can patch from the di out into the effects return on the rh450 to bypass the internal pre and still use the tuner function. This does not involve a second preamp.

Yep, that's what I meant. Gives you at signal to the power section and you can still use some of the features.
You could come out the di the into an external pre amp then into the effects return

For the record, according to the text, both. Figure E shows the frequency settings of the tone controls, programmed using the shift button. Fig E shows the gain settings for the tone controls after they had been set using the shift button to the levels shown id Fig D. I think.
