RH450 Question... using a power strip as on/off switch?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been building a custom rack for my TC Electronic rh450. I find that, since I've allowed 8 or 9cm depth to store the various cables, the power switch is not easy to access.

However, I have a potential solution...

If I attached a power strip (with an on/off switch) at the end of the power cord, could I leave the amp "on" and use the power strips on/off switch to effectively turn the rh450 on or off?

Any possible concerns doing that?

I don't have a good reason for you, but I feel uneasy about it. I use a Furman in my rack, but still power on my amp after the Furman powers on everything else.

+1 on that. I have most stuff in my rack that has seperate on/off, so I do the Furman 1st and then my pre-amp and then my power amp. This way I don't crack through the speakers. I have a Rocktron Bass Pre that doesn't have an on/off and i had it plugged in all the time but I stopped doing that and pl;ug it in manually.....

Hmm.... guess I might have to re-build the rack, but I'd rather avoid that if possible.

Any suggestions?
