Rig decision help

Sign in to disble this ad
I played on two GK GLX 410s with a GK Backline 600 and I thought it sounded pretty decent for the price bit since the GLX was discontinued I was thinking about going with a GK 410MBX and a GK 115MBX with a GK Backline 600. I don't really know much about Cabs or Heads so I was wondering if you guys thought this would be a good decision. Thanks!

2 cents

here are mine...
buying new, you're looking at a spending around $1000 after tax...
I would go with the 700rb and pretty much any cab after that. 2 neo 1 12's is a KILLER combo... bring 1 for smaller gigs/practice/etc.; 2 for gigs with drummers.
For simplicity, get the neo212.
For sheer awesomeness, pick-up an 8x10 (I like Ampeg for this).

Spending just a few more hundred dollars can get you a MUCH better rig.

Borrow, earn, or take the money and get yourself a BADASS rig; avoid mediocracy at all costs.

Thanks man I really appreciate it! I was originally thinking about going with an ampeg 8x10 but decided it was too much for me in price so I'm leaning more toward the neo212.

used

you should check craigslist, or even a used gear store in your area, for a used 8x10--- you can find them at a decent price sometimes. I'd like to get one in an 8 ohm version, along with an 8 ohm 2 x 15, to push around with my 700rb.

BTW...

Most importantly, get the better amp... 700rb. Just search around hear on TB for opinions: all things considered (price, reliability, power, tone, portability, etc.), it is one of the best amps money can buy. The other option... 800rb... but it's more pricey.
