Rig Discussion

Hey guys
Listen, I've got a bit of cash to spend on some rig. It comes up to about 500-600$, and I basically need a bit of an overhaul. I currently have a Laney RB2 and a Samick/Greg Bennett Fairlane 5-4. I'm most satisfied with my bass, so I think I'll mostly go for a new amp. We've just started playing our first live shows, and I've come to realize that my amp isn't nearly as loud as it needs to be, especially outdoors. So I was wondering if anyone knew any good amps out there. The sort of tone I'm looking for is thick, bass heavy and really rounded. I only play with my fingers, and I'm looking for this sort of JPJ tone, except a lot more...low...a bit like U2's Adam Clayton, maybe...?
Also, I live in India, so please, no remote European brands. I have a strong feeling that import costs can add up to a lot.
If it turns out that I, in my noobishness, have all the wrong equipment, I think I might be able to splurge on a new bass, but I'd rather not...
This is all my starter gear, and I'm not too technical. If you've had the patience to read until here, you officially have my respect and sincere thanks.

In order to reproduce those lows, you'll need alot of power, and some BIG cabs. Soimething in the 800-1000 watt range, and maybe a 4x12, 6x10, etc. It 's very difficult to get that low, so you may want to re-think that goal.

Don't know what you have for an amp head currently? If it is a SS head with a preamp out or an effects send use that to drive a PA amp with big capable speaker cabs. Like said above, that kind of sound requires lots of power and lots of speaker cone area. After you get that sound in a live band mix you will find it hard to control without causing the band mix to turn to a muddy mess.
Good luck without a live sound engineer and thousands of dollars of equipment.

Cheap power is available from PA amps, the speakers to handle all that power will be the trouble.
