You've got me beat! My biggest rig was my SVT-II -> GB 610 XB2 and Elk Custom 30 (tuber) -> Avatar 115 and that was just for the hell of it.

That doesn't make sense unless one of those selections is for powering only one speaker. (Ex: 2 8 ohm speakers in parallel = 4 ohms or in series = 16 ohms.)

Oh I'm absolutely positive I'm doing damage to those speakers. When I replace the speakers of course I'm rewiring them to actually work with this setup.

I would be more worried about damaging your amp with an incorrect speaker load. Or am I way off base?

+1 the doom part might be the damage caused to the amp.

Really? I asked all over the place and I was told it's cool.

It should be 4 ohms, shouldn't it?

Wait a minute, I checked the owner's manual and I'm pretty sure I can run an 8 ohm cab.

2 x 900 Watts @ 2 Ohms (600 Watts Continuous)
2 x 625 Watts @ 4 Ohms (490 Watts Continuous)
2 x 350 Watts @ 8 Ohms (300 Watts Continuous)

I know the 810 is 4 ohms and the B25 is 8. I know 16 would destroy it...I think.

Ohms are stupid!

It's a solid state head. The way to hurt it is to run it at too low of an impedance. You can run it into 16, 32, or 300 ohms. You just won't get much power out of it that way. Tube amps are the ones that risk damage to transformers or worse if you run them at the wrong impedance.

Then why the hell is it in the owner's manual?

Cool rig from the looks of it. With the help of a band mate, I suggest stacking those cabs vertically at gigs.

16 or more isn't so useful for bass purposes. Your head would run approximately 175w (150 w RMS) @ 16 ohms, 87.5w (75w RMS) @ 32 ohms and so on. It just isn't useful when it has the potential to pump out 600w RMS. How often do you see a 16 ohm bass cab on the market these days? If all these amps are 4 or 2 ohm safe, then why not just make cabs that get full power?

Right now I'm running it at 8, so I'm at 350w...yes?

My plan is to wire 2 8 Ohm speakers in parallel to achieve 4.

How is this damaging to my amp exactly?

I may or may not have confused the problem with that of a tube poweramp. Solid state doesn't like too low an impedance, so I guess you're probably fine. But don't take my word for it.
